Evangelism Memory Verse:
“No man can come to me, except the Father which has sent me draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day.” –John 6:44

Evangelism Quote:
“Yet remember, though He condescendeth to reason, to persuade, to [call], and to beseech, still His Gospel hath in it all the dignity and force of a command. If we would preach it in these days as Christ did, we must proclaim it as a command from God, attended with a divine sanction and not to be neglected, save at the infinite peril of a soul…’Repent ye’ is as much a command of God as ‘Thou shalt not steal.’”

Here’s a full report from Tim Crawford:
Thursday night was a cold one, but TLC Ministries bundled up and headed out to the
It was a great opportunity for us to preach the Gospel considering the thousands of people who attend this event for the festivities and the infamous “Wassail Fest” competition. This is an annual event where all of the local businesses make up a hot apple cider-like tea called Wassail and compete against each other to see which one is the best. There is also a historic courthouse on the square and the museum was open for all to see. This event has the traditional carolers and stages for musicals and kids choirs as well as many local vendors. It was a great family atmosphere with amazing opportunities to share the truth and the fact that “Jesus is truly the Reason for the Season”.
We had many great one-to-ones and to my surprise the people were willing to stop and listen at length despite the bitter cold. We had several amazing one-to-ones; the people were clearly broken by the law and brought to a place where they know a decision needs to be made. It was a great night out. One lady was broken; I decided to just minister to her and listen to her story about a broken home and children and what a mess she was in. I then shared the Gospel and some verses that seemed to give her hope and prayed with her and her friends. We need to remember that there are a lot of broken souls out there who just want you to listen. At that point you can share the gospel because, as Mark Cahill said, “Sharing the Gospel is about a conversation not a presentation.” This is so true! We need to be sensitive enough to listen to their needs and show them a true heart of love and compassion before just plowing through a presentation. Don’t get me wrong, I truly believe that through a good conversation we will get to the presentation and present the Gospel of our Lord, but we need to show them that we care.
I also had a great opportunity to share the gospel with some of the big sponsors like Tom Thumb, Chicken Express and Dr. Pepper people. We got into the live feed news area and were able to get the gospel into there hands while they were being filmed for live TV. We meet some that were soundly saved and really encouraged that we were out sharing the good news.
All said and done we were able to share the gospel and distribute many Gospel tracts. Please pray that souls will be saved and God will be glorified through this out reach.
TLC Ministries was blessed this past weekend with the privilege of organizing the first ever Texas Revival Series conference at the City Church International in
The event was also a time to network with other believers and ministries which focus on evangelism in our area. Ministries represented at the event included Voice of the Martyrs, Gospel for

Apparently, there is a procedure to be followed for gaining permission to hand out tracts at a DART station. These details can be reviewed here. TLC Ministries intends on following these instructions in the future since the
Notwithstanding the efforts of those who oppose the Gospel, the Lord worked powerfully on the DART trains. Some of the team boarded the train and engaged in open-air preaching and one-to-one witnessing. One young lady made a profession of faith in Christ as a result, and was directed to a local church. We praise the Lord for this fruit in spite of the best efforts of the enemy to discourage this very thing.
I had the privilege (together with Rhonda Stroud and Trish Ramos) of discussing the true Gospel at length with a member of Tony Evans’ church named George who was out witnessing in the
On Sunday, Mark preached at the City Church International on the fear of man. Sunday night, he spoke at First Baptist Church of Justin on the same subject. There were many visitors at FBC Justin on Sunday night including a large group from UNT in

Evangelism Report:
On Monday night I joined Ernie Black and Joe Todd of Countryside Bible Church at a local youth detention center to do a Bible study. There were about six teens present and we studied Matthew 22:23-40. Joe did a great job with the study and the guys listened well, which is always a blessing when it happens. We were able to review the Ten Commandments with the guys in the context of the lesson. Pray for the Word to find good soil in their hearts.
We all took turns preaching towards the end of the day, without amplification. The one good thing about that free speech area is that the acoustics are phenomenal. We could be heard, without straining, more than 100 yards away.
I had one good one-to-one with a couple of students who were “textbook” conversations. They thought they were good enough to go to Heaven, but the Law obliterated their self-righteousness. They had Christian backgrounds, but did not know the first thing about the Gospel. I also spoke to a Catholic named Mark who did not know about the issue of justification by faith in relation to the Reformation and I was able to open my Bible and show him 2 Corinthians 5:21 and Romans 5:8-9.
Tim had a heated conversation with an atheistic evolutionist who, when cornered on various positions would respond with vulgarities rather than reason. Tim, for his part, responded with grace, but this only made the atheist even madder. Eventually the guy stormed off, but he heard the Gospel. Wesley said that there are one of two ways people will respond when convicted: they will either grow sorrowful because of their sin or angry. We trust God that this anger may have been evidence of his own conviction. Please pray for his salvation.
We were blessed to be able to join up with several other teams to form one team of about 25 Biblical evangelists to hit the streets in
We began passing out money tracts to the crowd. Parade evangelism is like shooting fish in a barrel. As we walked in the street along the parade route (before the parade started) dozens of hands shot out from the crowd asking for the tracts! We received so many requests that we just passed the tracts to people in the crowd in stacks and asked them to give one to everyone, which they did. In about one hour our group of five (Ron and Ben Moore from the
So, we turned to one-to-ones and open-air preaching. We found a quieter spot near one of the intersections behind the crowd and passed out the few tracts we had left and engaged in some one-to-ones. Tim Crawford had some good one-to-ones with some gangster teenagers. They started very self-righteous and confident that they were saved, but after they spoke Tim asked them again if they thought they’d be going to heaven or hell when they died? They all admitted that they would be going to hell. Tim presented the Gospel to them, focusing on justification by faith and the guys listened eagerly. We saw them later and Tim called out to them, “Hey guys, choose you this day whom you will serve! You guys could be great men of God one day. Leave it all behind and follow Jesus!” They smiled sheepishly and thanked Tim for sharing with them.
After the parade concluded, the massive crowd began moving towards
At this point most of the crowd had moved over to
The TLC contingent left after a season of prayer with everyone right around 9:00PM. The rest of the team continued on for another couple of hours.
What a blessing to have such a wonderful group of saints to preach with! The crowds were fairly respectful as we preached; this was a different crowd than the typical Friday night crowd in

“How many are there in our day, since the Gospel is grown so common, that catch up a notion of good things and from that notion make a profession of the name of Christ, get into churches, and obtain the title of brother, a saint, a member of the Gospel congregation, that have clean escaped repentance.” –John Bunyan

We had another great outreach at UNT. Jon was in
I was there for about 20 minutes when a kid name Patrick came up to me and asked if he could watch what I was doing and hang out. After speaking with him for a few minutes I knew that he was a believer and he told me he worked on campus for the Navigators. So I handed him a stack of tracts and put him to work. This was interesting for me and God reminded me “why we do what we do”. God allowed me a great opportunity to show him the importance of presenting the law before grace then preaching the Gospel. I was able to implement these principles to several students as he watched. It was awesome to see his face as the law broke through the hard hearts of several unbelievers. After about an hour of taking him through the scriptures, showing him the verses and implementing it on real people I think he was convinced. He was very appreciative and thanked me for taking time out to show him why and how to share the Gospel. When he left he said to me “Wow you certainly have given me a lot to think about”. Please pray for him.
I had some incredible one-to-ones with some interesting students. Please pray for Ali who is a Muslim and his friend Tom who was a Buddhist. They heard the complete Gospel and were clearly broken by the Law. I was able to give them tracts and my business card in hopes that they will call me in the near future. Two other kids that stuck out to me were Devin and Joshua. They were from
I met a professor at the campus today named Dan. He was very interested in the open-air preaching and the one-to-ones. I was able to give him some contact information, in hopes that he will join us in the near future for some outreaches. The more professors on board the better!!!
After all this I was greeted by another open air preacher named Thomas Sadowski. He stopped by to visit and was a great encouragement to me as well. It wasn’t long after he showed up that our friendly atheist Richard stopped back to talk. Please pray for him, he stops by almost every week and will talk for hours. Thomas decided it was time for him to open-air and we got some visitors doing a film project on free speech. They decided to film us doing one-to-ones and open air!!! Praise the Lord, whoever watches that video to grade his project will hear the gospel as well.
I was also interviewed by two young ladies named Heather and Jenni. They wanted to raise the awareness of sex in the media. I preached the gospel to them and then they asked “since we gave you our time can we have a few minutes of yours?” They were carrying a poster board with a bunch of scantly dressed women on it from Vogue magazine and Cosmopolitan type stuff. So I said, “Well I really don’t have anything to say other than I think that all that filth on your billboard is nothing more than executive level prostitution and porn!!!” They were like awesome!!! Can we interview you for our website because we think that as well!!! I was surprised and gladly accepted the interview. Turns out they were looking for someone like me who shared there same view and we pretty excited because almost everyone else they meet didn’t have a problem with it.
All said and done we had a great day at UNT!!! God does amazing things when we are obedient and available. Please go and share the Gospel with someone today and keep these dear folks in your prayers!!!
Holy Epidemic (
On the weekend of November 14-16 I had the privilege of speaking at the Holy Epidemic Conference in Frankston (VIC) near
On Friday night a group of 14 went out to the nightclubs and did one-to-one with the clubbers. They had a good night of witnessing and many good conversations. On Saturday immediately after the conference, about 20 of us went down to the shopping district in Frankston and did some open-air, tracts, and some one-to-one. Phil McGibbony started the preaching off with a strong message on the Gospel. I followed him with a message on the reality and finality of death. While I was preaching, a drunk lesbian came running across the street from behind me (I did not see her coming) and she pushed me off of the stool. Out of instinct, I grabbed a hold of her arm and she thought that I was going to report her to the police. She began to apologize and asked me to forgive her, which I did. She responded with an expletive and went back across the street to her girlfriend and began kissing her. At that point I preached the Sovereignty of God saying that she could push me off of the stool, but no one can push God off of His throne. Of course, my Aussie brothers razzed me a bit for getting pushed off the stool by a GIRL, but I can justify it because she pushed me from behind.
Unbeknownst to me, there was a homosexual man yelling at me from the balcony. I heard him but did not see him, so Phil went up the stairs to the restaurant and had a very good one-to-one with him. This only goes to prove the point that a crowd size does not matter in the open-air because you never know who’s listening.
Lionel Letcher preached OA as well and managed to get a teenage heckler, who seemed at least a little interested, but his friends were a distraction in spite of very good efforts on the part of a group from

On Tuesday I spent much of the day wandering around the shopping district in Frankston doing some last minute shopping and passing out tracts as I went. Along the way I ran into Lionel who had just finished work for the day and we met later to do some open-air preaching in the outdoor mall area. Lionel started us off and passed out tracts as he preached. I preached on death being a stalker and how it’s only reasonable to consider the claims of the Gospel since death is inevitable. This resulted in a long one-to-one with a drug addict named Melinda and her boyfriend. She seemed to understand much of the Gospel, but still hung on to her own self-righteousness. Please pray that she will attend

Jim served at several GNN evangelism boot camps as a team leader and was known as “Jimernet” for his ability to locate resources on the various message boards and websites. He helped many of us locate hard-to-find resources in pretty short notice. My last memory of serving with Jim in person goes back to the 2007 GNN Reignite camp when he preached at UNLV in

At the Speed home in Justin, we passed out about 140 Million Dollar Bill tracts with a full sized Snickers bar. Our count was a little low this year due to the fact that the Texas Motor Speedway invited the community in to the track for trick-or-treating amongst the vendors. We had bought almost 200 candy bars based on last year’s count, so now our chocolate-holic son has enough supply to carry him through until Christmas.
The Crawfords attended the family night at FBC Justin on Friday night. Tim used the opportunity to share the Gospel with several from the community who attended the event. Saints, the local church is a wonderful place to evangelize; don’t miss the opportunity that is there each week. When visitors come to church, why not hand them a tract or engage them in a purposeful witnessing conversation? R.A. Torrey included a chapter on sharing the Gospel at church in one of his books on evangelism. Paul Washer says that the local church is the greatest field for evangelistic work. Don’t let visitors come to your church without getting a personal explanation of the Gospel. Don’t assume that they are saved because they are in your church building.

On Saturday afternoon, before the O’Reilly race, myself, Tim Crawford, Ron and Caleb Martinez went out to pass out more literature. Once again, it was easy. We went through the literature quickly, but we had a plan B. We had about 1,000 NASCAR tracts from www.onemilliontracts.com which had been pre-approved by TXARM for distribution. We went through all of the rest of our tracts very quickly (the NASCAR tracts go like hotcakes).
Tim had a great one-to-one with a couple of guys named Mike and Eric. They were extremely receptive to the Gospel; so much so that they invited Tim in to the race and gave him a ticket! After discussing it, Tim decided to take them up on it. It was an opportunity to chat during breaks in the action and it showed them that he truly cared about them and wasn’t there just to put an evangelistic notch in his belt.
Saints, this is true friendship evangelism! You don’t have to wait to establish a friendship to share the Gospel. Share the Gospel and then develop a friendship. At that point, the context is developed to ask more questions and see the Gospel lived out! This is clearly how friendship evangelism was done in the New Testament. The people that Christ and the apostles met in the course of their public proclamation became their friends, where they had even more opportunity to live and teach the Gospel! Mike and Eric have Tim’s phone number. Please pray that they will have “good soil” hearts and that they will call with more questions.
Sunday:
On Sunday morning, I had to teach adult Sunday School at Countryside Bible, so I couldn’t get to the track as early as I would have otherwise. It was good to minister the Word of God to the saints. We studied Isaiah 49-57 and studied the Servant of the Lord in that passage. It is an amazing passage of Scripture and full of New Testament truth.
I made it out to the track at about 12:30PM and met Ron and Caleb there. Ron participated in the handicap transport ministry. He was a “ride along” whose job is to share the Gospel with those who are getting a ride to the gates. Caleb and I went to Gate Four and passed out the schedules. We went through all of the schedules in about an hour and resorted to Plan B again, and passed out NASCAR tracts. Sunday is the busiest day, the day of the big race (Dickies 500) and passing out literature is challenging because it’s hard to keep up! In two hours, we probably passed out about 1,000 tracts (just me and Caleb), maybe more.
Ron stopped in briefly in between trips to let us know that it was going very well on the cart. He had some great opportunities to share Christ with riders.
Praise the Lord with us for this opportunity to do “mass evangelism”.

Evangelism Quote:
“There is an awakening. And I am going to say this with tenderness. Most men over 40 don’t even have a clue about it. Many of the young people who are turning back to the old men and the old ways and to truths that have brought awakening time and time again in this world, most of these young men are quite young. And they will go to their pastors, they will go to their leaders and say, “Look at this, what we have discovered. Look what happened in

Evangelism Opportunities:
1. Friday, October 31st: Halloween. TLC Ministries recommends that you stay home this night with your family and pass out tracts to the trick-or-treaters who come to your door. Whatever you do, DON’T skimp on the candy; if you are going to pass out Gospel tracts, don’t pass out toothbrushes, apples, or Tootsie Rolls. Be generous and mindful of what kids like. We like to be known as the most generous house in the neighborhood, so we pass out full size Snickers bars along with creative Gospel tracts. Don’t miss this GREAT opportunity to evangelize your own neighborhood.
2. Thursday, October 30th-Sunday November 2nd: TLC Ministries will assist TXARM with ministry at the Texas Motor Speedway during the NASCAR Dickies 500\O’Reilly Challenge race weekend. Ministry opportunities include passing out tracts at the main gates, assisting with the handicapped transportation, staffing the information booths, and various childrens ministries.
The schedule for literature distribution is as follows:
Thursday, October 30: Noon—7:30PM.
Friday, October 31: 11:00AM—8:00PM.

Evangelism Report:
On Thursday, TLC Staff and Tom Sadowski of Providence Chapel in
We played it very low key on Thursday since we were coming off a busy week in
As usual, we had several good one-to-ones. Our friend Anthony came by and continues to follow Christ in spite of some tribulations that have come into his life. He is an encouragement to us every time we see him. A couple of atheists who have questioned us on theistic evolution and macro-evolution came by and were very nice to chat with. It was a blessing to be able to have an amiable conversation with them. If nothing else, it shows that we can be friendly even if we are on the opposite sides of the issues. Several female Mormon missionaries stopped by when I tried to hand them a tract. One of them was one of the missionaries (there were six) who came by our home a few weeks ago. Only one of the three would take a tract. Again, it was a pleasant conversation, but we did not discuss theology. I didn’t get the impression that they wanted to go there, and honestly, my goal was simply to be normal and talk about normal things. I had already blown her up when she came to the house that night and wanted her to see that I’m not just a rabid anti-Mormon. I’m sure we will see her again on campus and I can revert to my ferociousness then.
It was a great day to share the Gospel, even in printed tract form. Please pray for all of those who read the Gospel. One student told me later that her tract was getting passed around the English class during the lecture. That’s the beauty of creatively printed tracts; they get read by more than just those you hand it to.
On Friday night, I met Jason Sides at
It was a scouting mission since we had never witnessed there before. We talked to several teenagers, using the Australian version of the Way of the Master “Smart Cards.” Those almost always work well with small groups of teens, and this night was no exception. It was a little late, so it wasn’t as busy as usual, but the conversations were still very good. The kids listened closely to the Gospel. Some were distracted easily, but the seed was sown.
We enjoyed a good time of fellowship at TGI Friday’s around some Buffalo-style chicken wings (of course) and Cokes. This is one of the blessings of doing organized evangelism; informal fellowship. I know my brothers and sisters better that I witness with from times like these than organized fellowship dinners and the like.
Northwest ISD Home Football Game (Justin):
This report comes from Tim Crawford.
We had another successful outreach at Northwest ISD Friday night. The traffic was a little slow compared to the last few games, but there was still plenty of people to witness to. We handed out free hot dogs and drinks to all who wanted them and gave out the Gospel to many including those who didn’t want it!!! I had several one-to-ones and some great group discussions with students and was encouraged by other believers. One gentleman come back and asked which church we were from. I was able to invite him to church with us. He said that we were a real encouragement to him and he was going to stop in and see us sometime.
My middle son, Brandon (6 years old), is becoming a witnessing/tract passing out machine!!! He came into my room Friday at 5:30 because I fell asleep and woke me up and said, “Hey dad let’s go somewhere and pass out Gospel Tracts!!!” I said, “OK, we are going to the football game in a few minutes and we will do it there.” He got so excited that he ran to the kitchen drawer where mom puts all of the tracts for her bills and grabbed a stack and ran out the door. I got ready to head to the game and Brandon jumped in the truck and started sharing with me how he gave this bully his special tract. There were about six kids out in front of the house playing football and Brandon witnessed to them all.
I found out later it was the 15 second good person test and when the kid failed it he started to cuss and use God’s name in vain and he told all the other kids not to listen to what Brandon had to say. So I asked Brandon, “Well, what did you say to him?” and he said, “Don’t use Gods name in vain; it is SIN!!! It gives you a dirty heart and separates you from God!” Apparently the kid needed to be rebuked and God sent Brandon out there to do it!!! I was so encouraged by this. I felt bad at first when he told me how the kid was cussing and telling the others not to listen to him, but when he shared with me what he said and how he gave all of them Gospel tracts anyway, it was awesome. “Let’s hit the streets for Jesus!!!” I was seriously dragging my feet about hitting the game until that point.
We headed to the school and before I could even park the truck Brandon was trying to jump out the door. He said, “Dad can I get out here please!!!” It was where we would be tailgating anyway and I would just have to park and meet up with him. He hit the ground running and must have passed out at least 300 gospel tracts himself!!! All that to say this; I know sometimes it is hard to get up and go, but like they say we can’t take the Go out of Gospel. This little six year old inspired me and the whole team when we didn’t have much GO left. He would literally sprint to the crowds and give them the Gospel tracts. It seemed as if everyone that came by us said, “We got one from that little guy back there” when we tried to give them one! We just had to ask them, “Did you read the back of it?” and then springboard into the Gospel. What a blessing it is to serve the Lord with my son and see the God-given passion he has to pass out Gospel tracts!!!
Isn’t it awesome to know that we can share the good news of Jesus Christ and be an ambassador for the Lord without carrying the burden of the results? Sometimes we think that we aren’t doing enough or this isn’t going as well as expected, but God is Sovereign and has complete control. His perfect plan is already laid out; all we have to do is be obedient and available. He will take care of the rest.

4. Desiring God Ministries (John Piper) is offering a great special on the book, “Seeing and Savoring Jesus Christ”. Buy a case of 48 for $68.00 postage paid! This is a great deal and would make a great Christmas present. In fact, DGM is calling this their “Christmas Outreach Special”.

7. Check out this blog post on Ron Martinez’s recent adventure\experiment in friendship evangelism. Lesson: it might not be effective, but at least it tastes good. When sinners turn down non-confrontational doughnuts, you can always eat them yourself.
*8. Ligonier Ministries is offering the Reformation Study Bible for any sized donation! A friend of mine got one for $5! Call Ligonier at 800-435-4343. This is a cheap way to provide a quality discipleship tool to new (and established) believers.
*9. Grace to You is offering a free book by John MacArthur called “Four Ways to Miss Heaven”. Here is a great evangelistic tool! Call 800-55-GRACE to get your copy.
10. Be sure to watch this 3 minute video clip of Paul Washer explaining the coming persecution of the American church. Sobering words, but very, very true.
*If these don’t appeal to you, why not get them and donate them to TLC Ministries for our use on the campus of UNT and elsewhere?
